Microalgae act like natural sponges, filtering toxins from manufacturing operations. This filtration process ensures that wastewater quality is restored to purity and below safe limits before being released back into the natural ecosystem. 

Another advantage of this circular system is the zero waste. The algal biomass harvested after the water purification process is not disposed of as new waste but can be reprocessed into renewable energy sources, bioplastic raw materials, or economically valuable organic fertilizers.
